Mining Engineering is an engineering discipline that involves the sciences, technology and application of extracting and processing minerals from natural environment. Mining Engineers are responsible for locating natural reserves of minerals, petroleum and other useful natural resources and layout the plans, device shafts, inclines or quarries for the safe extraction of these resources from under the earth. The academic programmed includes not just grounding in basic engineering sciences but also a fair amount of theoretical and practical training in the different aspects of mining engineering, metallurgy and geology, planning , design, construction, operation and maintenance of mines their safety excavating transport of minerals.
