B.Sc. Agriculture is a four-year degree course. The program consists of study of topics such as-agriculture science, use of modern scientific equipment and techniques in agriculture, land surveying, soil science, water resource management, animal management and poultry management. The coursework offered in this course has a thoughtful blend of technical, theoretical and practical subjects.
Options after completing BSc Agriculture
Students can pursue MSc Agriculture to delve deeper into the subjects at the post graduate level. Students who are interested to do research work in the field of agriculture can opt for PhD to earn a doctorate degree. Usually graduates in this discipline take up a lucrative teaching job while pursuing higher studies.
State Agriculture departments recruit graduates at Officer level positions. Government run banks also recruit graduates in Agriculture. In the private sector, graduates may be employed as managers at Plantations, as Officers at Fertilizer Manufacturing firms, Agriculture Machinery Industries, Agricultural Products Marketing firms, Food processing units etc.
