ABOUT FDP

• Wheat and Rice are the main staple crops of India.
• The production of wheat is expected to be all time high of about 113 MT during the Rabi 2022-23.
• The production of rice during Kharif 2023 is expected to be all time high about 127 MT
• The FCI godowns had stock of about 70 MT (31 MT wheat, 39 MT rice) in the last week of May 2023. The godowns in private sector have capacity of about 20 MT
• This extraordinary achievement of Indian agriculture has been possible due to enabling Govt. Policies and Schemes as well as modern technologies of Artificial Intelligence, Smart and Precision agriculture
• One week FDP on "Artificial Intelligence for Smart Agriculture" has been scheduled to transmit the know-how about these policies and technologies to the faculty and students of agriculture, engineering, information technology, basic and applied sciences, management and other allied subjects
