Workshop on Application of STAAD Pro Software by Ducat, Noida

Mr. Ashwani Kumar Verma, software engineer from DUCAT conducted a workshop at Sanskriti University, Mathura on 28th November 2018 for B.Tech (Civil Engg.) Students of IInd, IIIrd & IVth year on STAAD Pro Structural Software. This software addresses all aspects of structural engineering designing especially for model analysis & design visualization. In the seminar hall, fully packed with students and faculty members, he explained different aspects of designing by STAAD Pro Structural Software. This workshop was organized in the ongoing quest of the university to provide experiential learning and project based learning to its students pursuing various programmes.

He explained the steps of designing of beam by calculating the deformation of a simply supported beam on application of varying loads by using this software and also drew shear force & bending moment diagrams of a beam with this software.

The students have learnt about the method of drawing a beam by using the software and calculate shear force and bending moments easily. They have also learnt about load calculation of truss by using the STAAD Pro Structural Software.

The students attended the workshop with Mr. Mukul Goswami, Ms. Ankita Sonkar & Mr. Aatrey Pandey of Civil Engineering Department under guidance of Mr. Atul Varshney (HOD-Civil). Ducat, Noida motivated the students of civil engineering department of Sanskriti University to educate for application of STAAD Pro Structural Software.

The objective of the seminar was to provide Knowledge, Skills and Competencies about the use of STAAD Pro Structural Software.

Mr. Sachin Gupta, Chancellor of Sanskriti University, said that this type of knowledge enhancing activities should be part and parcel of curriculum of Civil Engineering Department as it provides our students a platform to make them employable.

Executive Director, Prof. P.C. Chhabra, said that students should be focused on this type of softwares and methods to simplify the designing process & execution of Civil Engineering works.

OSD Mrs. Meenakshi Sharma, Vice Chancellor Dr. Rana Singh and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Abhay Kumar were also present.

Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Abhay Kumar, handed over the certificates to the students and assured that this types of workshop will be conducted at periodic intervals. Vice Chancellor Dr. Rana Singh applauded the initiatives taken by School of Engineering and Information Technology and assured that necessary facilities from the University will be provided to all departments as and when required.
