Annual Mega Fest "SPARK-2017" Held At Sanskriti University

SPARK-2017, a two-day annual Techno-Cultural Fest of Sanskriti University was diligently organised on 24th & 25th March, 2017 at its campus at Chhata, Mathura which saw loads of enthusiasm, fervor, team-spirit and joy. Sanskriti University campus was brimming with vibrancy.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of Hon'ble Chancellor, Mr. Sachin Gupta, Pro-Chancellor, Mr. Rajesh Gupta, Executive Director, Prof. P.C. Chhabra, Dean, Dr. D.K. Singh, Associate Dean, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Principal, Mrs. Meenakshi Sharma, Principal (Polytechnic), Dr. Amit Jain & Director (Holistic Department), Dr. Subodh Dubey. Hon'ble Chancellor Sir declared the fest open by lighting of the lamp.

In his opening remarks, Hon'ble Chancellor congratulated the members of the management, teaching & non-teaching staff members and students for the laudable efforts they had put in to organize this two-day annual fest. He also wished good luck to all the participants.

A series of events and competitions were held over two days of the fest. The fest was marked with the presence of more than 2000 students - from Sanskriti University and from nearby universities/institutions. More than 30 different competitions and events ranging from cultural, dramatics, technical, artistic fields to music, literature, management and fashion were held at different venues within the campus premises simultaneously.

Some of them are as follows:

  • 'Ad-Mad Show', a spontaneous advertisement making competition in which students showcased their ideas befitting to changing scenerio of market.
  • Spontaneous (Extempore), Debate & Creative Writing competitions were organized to discover the unknown arena of creative mind of the students.
  • Collage & Poster making competitions, in which the students prepared collages and posters on themes such as Growing India, Clean Environment etc.
  • 'Entrepreneur in me', a competition in which the students represented a business plan with hypothesis, market survey supporting the new venture, action plan, expected returns, feasibility of the proposal etc.
  • LAN Gaming, a popular counter-strike game, in which the students exhibited their team spirit.
  • Mocktail Competition in which the students prepared a nutritious low-calorie non-alcoholic drink that is innovative, tasty, easy to prepare, energetic and suiting the modern lifestyle.
  • 'Food-o-art', a dish preparing competition in which the students turned out to be chefs and prepared and presented a starter, a main course and a dessert from the limited resources given to them.
  • In Technical Paper Presentation, participants presented their latest research ideas.
  • An inter-college/university Quiz Competition was also organized.
  • Shutter up, a photography competition was held as a medium of expression of visual creativity of the students.
  • Kabaad-se-jugaad competition, in which the students made useful things out of waste.
  • Nail painting, Face painting, T-Shirt Painting, Rangoli making, Mehndi Art & Signature Look (Make-up) competitions helped the students to display the hidden artistic talent in them.
  • In Futuristic Model competition, students exhibited their ideas for the technology of future.
  • Working Model competition highlighted the technical talent present in the students.
  • I as director, a short film competition, in which the students presented short films of 15 minutes approx. directed by them.
  • Abhinay, a drama competition, was organized where the students exhibited their acting potential as theatre helps in developing their wholesome personality.

The gathering present were impressed with the exhibition of skills by the students in different competitions. Students were very excited to receive the trophies and certificates along with cash prizes.

In the evening of the first day, various cultural competitions took place such as solo song, duet song, solo dance, duet/couple dance & group dance. The audience was extremely pleased with the performances of the participants and welcomed every performance with huge rounds of applause. This was followed by a special DJ Session organised for the students. After participating in various competitions in the day, the students enjoyed this session with full zeal and excitement.

On the second day of fest, musical evening was inaugrated by Shri Sadashiv Lokhande (Member of Parliament - Shirdi Constituency), Shri Pradeep Mathur (Ex-MLA), Shri H.C. Ganeshia (Advocate, Supreme Court), Shri Ghanshyam Gupta (Chairman, Maharaja Agrasen International Hospital), Shri Sagar Bindal (Director, Bindal Group), Shri Rajeev Gupta (Chairman, Bharat Test House), Shri R.K. Gupta (Founder Chairman, Sanskriti University), Shri Sachin Gupta (Chancellor, Sanskriti University) and Shri Rajesh Gupta (Pro-Chancellor, Sanskriti University) by lighting of the lamp with a beautiful 'Saraswati Vandana' playing in the background.

Shri Sadashiv Lokhande (Member of Parliament-Shirdi Constituency) emphasized the importance of organising such programmes so that maximum students can showcase their talent in extra-curricular activities and feel the competitive spirit. Shri Pradeep Mathur (Ex-MLA) expressed his views that co-curricular and extra-curricular activities play an important role in holistic development of the students.

All the guests present were felicitated by Hon'ble Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor and Executive Director of Sanskriti University with bouquet, shawl and memento.

Following the procession, students performed on Ganesh Vandana after which fashion Show was organized which showcased the dresses designed by the students of School of Fashion Designing. It involved imagination about the right combination of the dresses with styles and colors of the dress that suits the person wearing it and enhances his/her personality. The onlookers / spectators came in large numbers for this exhibit / fashion show. At the end of the fashion show, the best Attire and the best Design amongst them were awarded.

Then, finally came the performances for which the students were waiting for. It was marked with the presence of Bollywood singers, Vinod Rathore, Chandni Mukherjee and a choreographer-cum-singer, winner of 2013 - India's Dancing Superstar show, Shraey Khanna. The artists gave back-to-back performances which made the audience enthralled and entertained.

Vinod Rathore performed on the songs sung by him 'Nayak Nahin Khalnayak Hoon Main', 'Ae Mere Humsafar', Kitabein Bahut Si', 'Chupana Bhi Nahin Aata', 'Munnabhai MBBS' etc. which made the audience dance on his tunes. Chandni Mukherjee also sang various songs of the latest movies. Shraey Khanna performed on his recently launched Debut Song as singer 'Nakhra Wakhra' and exhibited his dance moves along with his group 'Invincible' and made the evening beautiful. Everyone enjoyed the musical night and highly appreciated the organizers as it was an exciting, exhilarating and interesting programme.

And this way, the two days of fun-filled fest reached to its end with an unspoken promise of making the upcoming events more happening and successful. Hon'ble Chancellor, Mr. Sachin Gupta, appreciated the performance and participation of the students and said that the University is committed to organize such programmes to encourage the growing and budding talents.

Pro-Chancellor, Mr. Rajesh Gupta, said that he is very glad to find that the faculty members and students worked in cohesion and planned such an event.

Executive Director, Prof. P. C. Chhabra, thanked the students for their excellent performance. He also thanked the guests who took the pain of attending the programme and encouraging the students.

The Deans, Directors and Principals whole-heartedly congratulated the participants and the winners on their feat for keeping the university spirits and hoped they would continue in future too at higher levels. They also mentioned the meticulous planning and commendable effort made by the co-ordinators, faculty members and administrative staff members.
